Jeff Heath Publisher
Jeff Heath has more than two decades of media sales experience, having worked on business-to-business publications as well as consumer and non-profit magazines.
Prior to joining SF&WB, Jeff was publisher of Hardware Retailing, the publication of the North American Retail Hardware Association. Before that, he was the Midwest account manager for the Better Homes & Gardens Special Interest Publications, a brand of Meredith Corp. Previously, Jeff was a regional sales manager at Hanley-Wood, LLC, with revenue responsibilities for publications serving residential construction such as Builder, Building Products, Big Builder and Residential Architect. Jeff also worked for Delta Communications as a regional sales manager for Converting magazine.
Jeff started his advertising sales career with Hardware Age magazine in 1984 after graduating from North Park College in Chicago with a degree in business administration.

Barb Szatko
Sales Manager
Having started her sales career with Procter & Gamble in 1994, Barb Szatko was awarded several business and organizational capacity-building awards. Prior to SF&WB, she was a sales manager for the Scranton-Gillette publication, Roads & Bridges, working with capital equipment clients such as Caterpillar and John Deere.
In addition, Barb wrote a weekly food column, "The Checkout Line" for her local paper. She graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in education.

Dan Malovany Editor
For more than two decades, Dan has been fortunate to field around 200 major case histories on the snack food and wholesale baking industry. An outspoken columnist for SF&WB, Dan also is a member of the American Society of Baking and other industry organizations, as well as a frequent speaker on new products and market trends at association meetings and company events.
Prior to joining SF&WB, he served as editor for Bakery Production & Marketing
magazine. Dan also has worked for newspapers in suburban Chicago; Providence, R.I.; Elyria, Ohio; Macon, Ga.; and Kansas City, Mo.
Dan is a graduate of Northwestern University with a master's in journalism.

Marina Mayer
Managing Editor
Marina Mayer is the managing editor of Snack Food and Wholesale Bakery, as well as Dairy Foods magazine, a sister BNP Media publication.
Since February 2008, she has been reporting on market trends, ingredient R&D and new products of the snack food and wholesale bakery markets. She also provides the "Final Word" in her monthly column and sounds off on today's issues and how they impact snack producers and bakers in her exclusive online-only column called "Fresh From the Oven," designed specifically for SF&WB's Web site. Marina also was a recipient of a Young Leader Scholar award, presented from American Society of Business Publication Editors, which is given annually to only five U.S. journalists, 30 years of age and under.
Prior to joining SF&WB, she served a five-year tenure as editor of quality control for Manufacturers' News, Inc., where she was named "Manager of the Year" in 2006. Previously, she worked as editorial assistant for Insider Magazine and worked as a contributing features writer for her college newspaper, the Indiana Daily Student.
Marina is a graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor's in journalism.

Jeff Deardruff Contributing Editor
Jeff Dearduff is a columnist for the SF&WB magazine and director of U.S. Bakeries at East Balt Inc. in Chicago. In his monthly column, Engineering Management, he addresses the responsibilities of the maintenance manager and the bakery engineer.
Jeff's 31-year career started in the baking industry at Perfection Biscuit Co., now Aunt Millie's. He is a member of the American Bakers Association and represents ABA on the Baking Industry Forum. He also is a member of the American Institute of Baking Educational Advisory Committee and is currently the third vice chairman of the American Society of Baking, becoming chairman in 2012.
In June 2008, Jeff received a silver award for best regular contributed column in the Midwest-South region from the American Society of Business Publications Editors.
