Veteran Baker Hoerner Joins Alpha Baking
Chicago-based Alpha Baking Co. has hired Gary Hoerner as a part of its operations management team.
Hoerner previously served as vice president of operations at Gerards Bakery, which was based in Longmont, Colo., and abruptly closed last year.
A 35-year veteran of the baking industry, Hoerner has been an active member of the American Society of Baking and served as the society’s chairman in 2002. He is a 1986 graduate of the American Institute of Baking’s Baking Science and Technology resident course and a member of AIB’s Educational Advisory Committee.
Alpha Baking produces a wide variety of breads, buns, rolls and other baked goods that are sold in the foodservice, in-store bakery and retail channels. The company’s brands include S. Rosen’s, Mary Ann, Kreamo, Golden Hearth and Natural Ovens.
