In an effort to reduce its corporate goal to reduce its climate impact by 20% by 2012, Lantmännen Unibake hired Gustaf Tynelius as sustainability manager.

In an effort to reduce its corporate goal to reduce its climate impact by 20% by 2012, Lantmännen Unibake hired Gustaf Tynelius as sustainability manager. Tynelius will be responsible for implementing Lantmännen Unibake’s climate strategy, which includes climate labeling of products, optimizing energy efficiency and ensuring an environmentally responsible transportation and logistics.

Lantmännen Unibake’s bakery group will focus on sustainability efforts on ingredients, energy, transportation and packaging. Lantmännen USA is based in Lisle, Ill., and operates a bakery in St. Petersburg, Fla. Its parent company is based in Europe.

“We are very much aware of our responsibility to reduce our impact on the environment, and we take this responsibility very seriously. Therefore, we strive to work with a sustainable mindset in all areas of our business, and here our new sustainability manager will play an important role,” says Bent Pultz Larsen, chief executive officer of Lantmännen Unibake.

Tynelius is a graduate in environmental engineering from Lund University as well as in agricultural engineering from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
