iba 2012 International Trade Fair Promises Everything for Bakers and Confectioners

iba 2012, Sept. 16-21 in Munich, Germany, is the leading international trade fair for future trends in the baking sector. A platform for innovation for all areas of the industry, iba provides an overview of new products on the market and combines exhibitors and visitors from various enterprises.

iba 2012 is described as the world’s leading international trade fair for the bakery market. To be held in Munich, Germany, at the new Munich Trade Fair Centre, Sept. 16-21, the show promises new bakery and pastry-making equipment, materials and ingredients, accessories and services as well as advances in technology, the latest in logistics, measuring instruments, packaging and process optimization.

Held every three years, the show is organized by Zentralvergand des deutschen Backerhandwerks and managed by GHM Gesellschaft Handwerksmessen mbH (GHM).

“Bread will no doubt gain even higher importance in your country,” says Peter Becker, president of the German Bakers Association. “Your country’s concern will not just be to supply the population with food; it will be necessary to create a need and stimulate experiences when shopping. This can only be done successfully if customer expectations are raised and met by means of top quality products, services and marketing…however, top end quality can only be achieved if one has top class equipment, machinery and the best raw materials, technology, qualified employees and first-rate marketing concepts.”

Becker emphasizes that trade fairs provide unrivalled opportunities to be informed in a targeted way. “No where else can one meet so many suppliers and consumers in one place,” he says. “No where else can one get a feel for the prospects within a particular industry.”

Munich is looking forward to welcoming guests from around the globe to iba 2012, says Dieter Dohr, chairman or the board of GHM. “Across six days, iba is the biggest global meeting point for colleagues in the industry.”
