Ecolab’sExelerateZTF wins an IFT Food Expo Innovation award during the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting & Food Expo.

Recognized for outstanding innovation in products, ingredients, applications, equipment, instruments, technology and services, Ecolab, Inc., St. Paul, Minn., won a 2011 IFT Food Expo Innovation award forExelerate ZTF, what it says is the first and only cleaning program designed to address zero trans-fat oil buildup in food processing environments.

Frying or baking food with zero trans-fat oils has the unexpected consequence of coating processing equipment and environmental surfaces with a stubborn residue.ExelerateZTF can help clean zero trans-fat residue from processing equipment and surfaces quickly, and the gelled product clings to equipment and surfaces to dissolve zero trans-fat soils, making it easier to clean.

"We are honored to be recognized by the IFT for this industry innovation," says Timothy Mulhere, senior vice president and general manager of Ecolab Food & Beverage North America. "Ecolab developedExelerateZTF as part of our ongoing efforts to deliver the solutions food processors need to produce safer, high-quality products and measurably improve operational efficiency."
