Hauppauge, N.Y. — Ken Langhorn has been promoted to technical director. Langhorn joined the company in 1998 and has worked in several technical and product management positions. His responsibilities include daily operations of the company’s Test & Development Center, as well as the ongoing development of new products and technology.
Shearer’s Foods,
Brewster, Ohio — Joyce Lawrence recently joined as channel marketing manager, responsible for category and product management in support of key accounts in mass retail, dollar and club channels.
Caravan Products,
Totowa, N.J. — Carmelo Marafioti has rejoined the company to focus on the growing Hispanic market for specialty breads and cakes. Marafioti previously worked in sales at Caravan from 1994 to 2003 and left to join his family’s restaurant business. He has returned to build on Caravan’s experience in Mexico and Latin America by introducing ethnic products into the U.S. market.

Terborg Netherlands — Mike Hartnett has been named president of Kaak Group North America. Hartnett has more than 16 years of experience in the bakery equipment business.
Bays Corp.,
Chicago — The producer of Bays English Muffins has added Steven Semler to its executive ranks as controller. In this position, Semler will be responsible for all accounting functions, as well as financial reporting and administration for Bays corporate entities.
PepsiCo,
Purchase, N.Y. — Thomas R. Greco has been named president of PepsiCo sales, succeeding Al Carey, who was named president and CEO of the company’s Frito-Lay North America division on June 26. Greco, a PepsiCo executive with 20 years of experience, most recently served as senior vice president of sales at Frito-Lay North America, PepsiCo’s $10 billion snack and convenient foods business.
Barbara’s Bakery,
Petaluma, Calif. — Food industry veteran Chuck Marble has been named executive vice president of Weetabix North America, the newly-consolidated group that includes Barbara’s Bakery Inc., The Weetabix Co. Inc. and Weetabix of Canada Ltd. In his new capacity, Marble will oversee the continued growth of Barbara’s Bakery and ensure the ongoing success of Weetabix’s American, Canadian and Mexican operations.
The Soyfoods Association of North America (SANA), Washington, D.C. — Geri Berdak has become president The Solae Company; and Ted Nordquist has been named vice president, WholeSoy & Co.
SK Food International,
Fargo, N.D. — Aaron Skyberg has been elected to the 11-member Soyfoods Association of North America board. Skyberg has been with SK Food for five years and is responsible for providing sales and marketing support in all areas relating to Certified Organic and Conventional non-GMO agricultural commodities.
