Kellogg Co.’s Special K snacks line is forging ahead with new Special K Pop Corn Chips and Pastry Crisps, developed to help women stay on track all day long. Kellogg is also celebrating the Olympics and the movie, The Amazing Spider-man, with limited-edition foods in the Pop-Tarts and snacks lines, and has Keebler debuting cinnamon roll cookies.

Pringles is also launching seasonal cinnamon crisps and, this fall, pumpkin will rule as a Pumpkin Pie version of Pop-Tarts will return, joined by Pumpkin Spice offerings from Eggo and Pringles. The company's commitment to understanding consumer needs is the inspiration for this latest round of new products, which it hopes will delight consumers and position Kellogg for continued success.

"Every new product from Kellogg is developed based on keen insights into the lifestyles, taste preferences and nutrition needs of our consumers," notes Brad Davidson, president of Kellogg North America. "By leveraging these emerging trends, we continue to introduce hot new products that excite both our consumers and our retail partners."

These insights come to life from across the snack aisles to the freezer section, by some of the world's strongest brands, such as Special K, Keebler and Eggo.

The current roster of new products capitalizes on the roll Kellogg is on with its other recent successful innovations. Special K Fruit Crisps and Keebler Town House Flipside crackers were named Breakthrough Innovation Leader Silver award winners by Nielson and Special K Cracker Chips came in at number seven on Symphony IRI's 2011 Top Pacesetters list.

Overcome dieting boredom is always a challenge, so Kellogg is expanding its Special K snack options. The Special K Cracker Chips, a runaway hit, are made with 100% real milled corn for a light and crispy texture. Each 28-chip serving has 120 calories and 2 g. of total fat, making them a great alternative to regular corn chips or microwave popcorn. They will be joined this summer by Special K Popcorn Chips in two varieties (Butter and Sweet & Salty).

Special K also targets women who play tug-of-war between the need for a sensible snack and cravings for something sweet. The new varieties of Special K Pastry Crisps—Chocolaty Delight and Brown Sugar Cinnamon—deliver two lightly sweet, crispy pastries with filling on the inside and a sweet drizzle on the outside at only 100 calories.

The Olympics are an inspiring time for moms because the achievements of the athletes remind them of the limitless possibilities that exist in their children's futures. Kellogg is celebrating this spirit of potential as a proud sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Committee and Team USA, and by unveiling a series of limited-edition Olympic-themed innovations: Team USA cereal, vanilla-flavored loops made with whole grains; Team USA Mixed Berry Pop-Tarts; and Keebler Chips Deluxe Rainbow cookies with red, white and blue candy jewels.

And why not play up the hottest summer movies, such as The Amazing Spider-man? Set to be a blockbuster, the movie will get additional promotion with Kellogg’s special Spider-man-inspired products and a program that lets families earn movie tickets. Yum-azing Vanilla Pop-Tarts capture the fun of the movie with red icing and blue “spidey” sprinkles. Other Spider-man-themed foods will debut from Cheez-It crackers, Rice Krispies Treats, Keebler Fudge Stripes cookies and Keebler Graham Bites. By collecting and redeeming codes found on specially marked Kellogg products, consumers can earn free movie tickets or upgrade from a standard ticket to a 3D show.
