Dare Foods names Luik president

September 25, 2012

Dare Foods Ltd., Kitchener, Ontario, has appointed Peter Luik president, effective Oct. 1. He will be responsible for all aspects of the company, as well as for overseeing the next chapter of Dare's growth, as the company draws on its strong heritage to continue to provide Canadians with quality products.

Peter Luik

Luik joins the company with more than 23 years of professional experience in food brands. Most recently, he was president and CEO of Heinz Canada, where he delivered outstanding annual sales and profit growth and consistent quarterly achievement.

“With his solid track record of delivering growth and profitability, extensive knowledge and industry experience, we are pleased to welcome Peter to Dare to lead the company through a new and exciting growth plan,” says William “Bill” Farrell, Dare Foods’ chairman of the board.

Luik also serves on the board of directors and acts as a subcommittee chair for two key industry associations, Food and Consumer Products of Canada and Food Processors of Canada, and holds a cabinet chair position for the United Way.

Dare is a family-owned company that manufactures cookies, candies, fruit snacks, crackers and fine breads. The company was a pioneer in offering peanut-free food solutions and continues to develop new products that address the changing needs of Canadian families.
