Axium Foods, South Beloit, Ill., copacks tortilla and corn chips, cheese curl snacks and other salty snacks for a number of customers, and makes its own crunchy corn-based snacks under the Pajeda’s and Fiesta Crunch labels. But its recent development of a purple tortilla chip under its Mystic Harvest brand is creating a lot of buzz in the snacks market for the chips’ deep color, satisfying taste and quality. What’s more, purple chips are unique.
“Purple tortilla chips are a first on the market,” says Cindy Kuester, vice president of sales at Axium Foods. “We always say that if you make a great product at a great price, you’ll have customers. We know we’ll have more with Mystic Harvest Purple Corn tortilla chips.”
