AIB offers updated Consolidated Standards for Inspection

November 30, 2012

AIB International, Manhattan, Kan., has completed updates of four of its 11 Consolidated Standards for Inspection. Regulatory developments, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Food Safety Modernization Act, and other industry best practices impacting the food industry worldwide, made the updates necessary.

The new requirements for the first four standards will take effect Jan. 1, 2013. Changes to the other standards will be completed in a rollout in 2013.

PDFs of the following standards can be downloaded by clicking on these links:

Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs Standard and the Change and Guidance Document for Prerequisite and Foof Safety Programs.

Food Distribution Centers Standard and the Change and Guidance Document for Food Distribution Centers.

Food Contact Packaging Manufacturing Facilities Standard and the Change and Guidance Document for Food Contact Packaging Manufacturing Facilities.

Beverage Facilities Standard and the Change and Guidance Document for Beverage Facilities.

AIB is also offering a webinar for each standard that explains how the standard has changed or been updated. They will be posted on in early December.

Printed copies of the standards will also be available for purchase starting in December. Copies can be pre-ordered by contacting AIB at or 800-242-2534.
