The World Packaging Organisation has announced the winners of the 2013 WorldStar Awards. Judging for the competition, which featured 316 entries from 32 countries, took place in Singapore in November.

WorldStar winners will receive their trophies at the next WPO meeting, scheduled to be held in Sydney in May. WPO also will announce the winners of its Sustainability, President’s and Marketing awards during the meeting, which will coincide with Auspack Plus 2013, Australia’s International Exhibition of Packaging and Processing Machinery, Materials and Associated Technology.

Companies receiving WorldStar awards for packaging materials suitable for snack foods are Max Speciality Films, India, for Matt Bopp film; The Paper Products Ltd., India, for Pure Magic canister pack; Umax Packaging, India, for ETA pouch for nuts; Packaging Association of Latvia, Latvia, for grocery, flakes and dry-mixture cartons; Containers Printers Pte. Ltd., Singapore, for Eat Me, Use Me standup pouch; and Ukrplastic, Ukraine, for a sunflower seed package.
