Dot Foods, General Mills reach agreement on refrigerated expansion

In response to increased supply chain demands, Dot Foods Inc., a Mount Sterling, Ill.-based food re-distributor, and General Mills, Minneapolis, have reached an agreement for Dot to carry General Mills’ refrigerated Yoplait and Pillsbury brand offerings. Dot currently carries General Mills’ dry, refrigerated and frozen foodservice products and will begin shipment of its refrigerated retail offerings on March 4.

“We’re very excited about our refrigerated expansion with General Mills,” says Jeff Adams, senior business development manager at Dot Foods. “Our existing partnership to offer their foodservice products has been very successful, and we expect this expansion to be no different.”

The expansion is expected to shorten lead times and increase turns for convenience distributors with consistent small less-than-truckload orders through Dot’s weekly deliveries and one-case minimum.

Dot Foods carries 105,000 products from 600 food industry manufacturers and is the largest food re-distributor in the United States, distributing foodservice, convenience, retail and vending food products to distributors in all 50 states.
