Produced by Packaging Strategies, a BNP Media property, the global event will focus on the connection between the food industry and packaging and bring together key brand owners, retailers, packaging converters, service suppliers and others developing and bringing to market the next generation of food packaging and related technologies and innovations.
The event will kick off on April 23 with a welcome reception from 6-7:30 p.m.
On April 24, attendees can enjoy a continental breakfast, followed by opening remarks by Joseph Pryweller, editor and conference director, Packaging Strategies. Keynote sessions by Jeff Wooster, global sustainability manager at Dow Chemical Co., Midland, Mich., and Nina Goodrich, executive director of the GreenBlue/Sustainable Packaging Coalition, Charlottesville, Va., will start a full day of presentations covering such topics as food packaging trends, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) research on alternative packaging materials, consumer aspects about food packaging and sustainability, food-waste management and PET growth opportunities.
The day will conclude with a Food Packaging Technologies exhibition and reception.
April 25 also will begin with a continental breakfast, followed by a look at key packaging issues (smart packaging that addresses tampering and fraud, organic waste and compostable packaging, new approaches to food containers and new testing technologies), edible packaging, digital packaging printing, packaging sustainability issues and chemical-free sanitation. An early registration rate is available until April 3.
