IBIE 2013 to roll out Great American Pie Festival in Las Vegas

The aroma of baking pies will waft through the air as people gather to sample a little slice of America at the “Never Ending Pie Buffet.” This inviting scenario describes a new experience in store for attendees at International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) 2013, to be held Oct. 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. One of many new features planned for the 2013 event, The Great American Pie Festival will showcase the wide variety of ready-made pies available from baking manufacturers and give expo-goers an opportunity to taste test to their heart’s content.

IBIE is producing the new feature in partnership with the American Pie Council and using the council’s national event as its model. Participants can expect an activity-filled environment where, in addition to unlimited pie tasting, they’ll be treated to live entertainment, complimentary refreshments, festival merchandise, free prizes and more.

The festival will be open during expo hours all four days of the show. Event organizers expect it to draw a crowd from across all attendee segments, but they anticipate that the festival will be of special interest to buyers for supermarkets, restaurants and other foodservice operations who purchase commercial pies for retail sale. Wholesalers are also likely to appreciate the opportunity to assess the final products made with various cutting, filling and baking equipment.
