SFA announces sofi Award winners at Summer Fancy Food Show

The Specialty Food Association presented its 41st sofi Awards for outstanding specialty foods and beverages of the year on July 1 during the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York. A sofi—which stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation—is the highest honor in the $86 billion specialty food industry.

The awards are open to members of SFA, a not-for-profit trade association for food artisans, importers and entrepreneurs. This year’s contest was the largest in its 41-year history, with specialty food makers submitting 2,573 products across all 32 awards categories.

Among this year’s sofi winners were several baked goods and snack products:

Baked Good, Baking Ingredient or Cereal—Fromagerie Belle Chevre, Elkmont, Ala., for Goat Cheese Cheesecake

Confection—The Sticky Toffee Pudding Co., Austin, Texas, for Chocolate Tiffin with Biscuits, Roasted Almonds & Cherries

Cookie—Tate’s Bake Shop, East Moriches, N.Y., for Whole Wheat Dark Chocolate Chip

Cracker —Lesley Stowe Fine Foods, Richmond, British Columbia, for Salty Date and Almond Raincoast Crisps
