Europain 2014

Europain & Intersuc 2014, a five-day program in Paris, March 8-12, featured 76,950 professional visitors, and 30% international exhibitors from 138 countries. There were 804 exhibitors and brands from 29 countries, including 34% international exhibitors and nine competitions involving 170 candidates at Europain and SuccessFood. Some 2,480 product demonstrations were viewed by even larger crowds than ever.

Know-how and creativity of products and equipment manufacturers as well as service providers in the baking, pastry, chocolate and confectionery-making fields were on view, highlighted through demonstrations over the course of show week. Despite the sluggish economic situation, this year’s Europain & Intersuc exhibition kept pace with the baking industry’s dynamism, with buoyant business activity, several events and competitions for artisans and industrialists alike.

The second SuccessFood edition confirmed its support to the bakery-pastry market’s new trend of offering foodservice to its customers and showcased many exciting, savory treats and baking equipment and baking technology. There was also a stage for the Bakery Masters, the International Confectionery Art Competition, the French Schools Cup, the selection rounds for the French Coffee Championships and the selection round for the Bocuse d’Or France, which closed the event in style. The exhibition was a success, thanks to the vital participation of powerful partners and professional associations gathered around EKIP, the owner of Europain exhibitions.

The show lived up to its theme, “Innovation,” as visitors had the opportunity to discover many new products and equipment, obtaining first-hand information about them to use in future baking industry applications. The future of the baking sector was also showcased at the Europain 2014 Innovation Trophies ceremony, which took place on March 8. The bakery industry will be in the spotlight once again in 2015 during the National Bakery Exhibition, to be held Jan. 24-28 during Sirha Lyon, a worldwide event for the catering and hospitality industry. The next Europain & Intersuc—SuccessFood exhibition will be held in Paris in 2016.
