“A World of Tortillas” is the theme of the Tortilla Industry Association’s 25th Annual Convention & Trade Exposition,  May 30-31, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Recognized as the most important event for anyone involved in the tortilla industry, the two-day event includes an exhibition featuring the latest technology, services, equipment, components, ingredients, packaging and systems exclusively for the tortilla and flatbread industry.

Numerous educational sessions covering topics of importance to TIA members, such as immigration reform, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and commodity prices, will be held daily from 8:30 to noon. Attendees can check out exhibits from noon until 5 p.m. on May 30 and until 4 p.m. on May 31.

Convention attendees will also be able to participate in a variety of networking events. TIA’s annual golf tournament will be held on May 29 at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. This year, participants will play on the resort’s longest, newest and most difficult course, the Wolf, and be able to compete for a $30,000 hole-in-one cash grand prize. The player fee for this year’s golf tournament is $79. Following the golf tournament, attendees can socialize with old and new acquaintances at a welcome reception and raffle from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Caesars Palace Forum Ballroom.

On May 30, TIA will hold its annual entertainment banquet, during which TIA’s leaders will announce this year’s Hall of Fame recipients and Scholarship Award winner as well as introduce TIA’s new board of directors. Following these activities, attendees can relax and enjoy comedian Monique Marvez and music by the Bella Electric Strings.
