Dessert and quiche manufacturer Love & Quiches Gourmet, Freeport, NY, says it will enhance the nutritional content of its products, which have always been scratch-baked and preservative- free, with the launch of “better-for-you” options. The roll-out will include new labels, which will identify products containing “all-natural” ingredients. The labels will also single out permissible indulgences—desserts that are fortified with nutrients through the incorporation of higher protein and lower fat ingredients, such as Greek yogurt and eggs—as better-for-you alternatives.

“The public is becoming increasingly better educated about their food choices and, as we've seen through attending numerous trade shows over the past few years, talking with customers and our own research, the entire food industry is taking note,” says Susan Axelrod, founder and chairwoman. “We take pride in consistently delivering the tastiest, highest quality products possible to the foodservice companies and retailers we do business with worldwide. These ‘better-for-you’ and ‘all-natural’ products, along with consumer-friendly labeling, takes that commitment to the next level.”

As part of the initiative, Love & Quiches will relaunch its Gourmet Grab & Go brownies and has introduced a new airline brownie line, which is currently available on U.S. Airways and American Airlines and will soon expand to all airlines Love & Quiches currently serves.
