Organic-style tortilla chips top SF&WB’s 2014 midyear Best New Product poll

Late July Organic Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips

Late July Organic Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips from Late July Organic Snacks, Barnstable, MA, garnered 50% of the vote in Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery’s midyear online poll of the best new baked goods and snack products of 2014…so far.

The tortilla chips were among the 10 finalists chosen by Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery’s editors from all the new products that have appeared in the magazine and on www.snackandbakery.com since Jan 1. Selection criteria included originality, packaging and taste.

Lance BOLDS Cracker Sandwiches

Launched in April, Late July Organic Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips are for those who prefer organic foods or snacks, or anyone who wants to snack healthier. Available in Sea Salt and Chia & Quinoa, the thin, crispy chips feature wholesome ingredients like organic chia seeds, organic quinoa and organic corn. In addition to being certified USDA Organic and Non-GMO Project-verified, they’re gluten- and nut-free, kosher and vegan. An authentic brown bag sealed airtight helps keep the chips fresher and tastier longer.

Visitors to www.snackandbakery.com also liked Lance BOLDS Cracker Sandwiches from Snyder’s-Lance Inc. and Blue Diamond Almonds’ Honey Nut Thins crackers, which received 38% and 7% of the votes, respectively. The former pairs exciting combinations of bold fillings with tasty, crunchy crackers. The latter is made with rice, real almonds and a touch of honey.

Other midyear candidates were Cascadian Farm’s Protein Granola Bars, Flowers Foods’ Mrs. Freshley’s Cinnamon Coffee Cakes, Frito-Lay’s Doritos Dinamita Fiery Habanero, General Mills’ Chex Mix Popped, Herr Food’s Hot Crunchy Cheese Sticks, Nabisco Brown Rice Triscuit Thin Crisps and Pastry Smart LLC’s Jack Crisps.

Congratulations to Late July Organic Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips, Lance BOLDS Cracker Sandwiches and Blue Diamond’s Honey Nut Thins crackers. These three midyear winners will automatically become candidates in SF&WB’s Best New Baked Good or Snack Product of 2014 contest in January 2015.
