Educational sessions, facility tours, tabletop exhibits and plenty of networking opportunities await attendees at the Tortilla Industry Association’s 2014 TIA Technical Conference in Texas.

Members of the Tortilla Industry Association (TIA) will convene in the Lone Star state this fall for the 2014 TIA Technical Conference. The two-day event will be held Oct. 9-10 at the Marriott DFW Hotel in Irving, TX.

The first day of the event will feature a full agenda of educational sessions. Topics to be covered (at presstime in July) are commodity pricing forecasts, tortilla industry market statistics, production efficiency techniques, more accurate cost calculations, equipment maintenance best practices, human resources/personnel best practices, plant and equipment safety, dealing with the latest changes from the Affordable Care Act, certification types and how to prepare for them, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations update, effective quality-control implementation, preservatives options for extending shelf life and new formulations (gluten-free, low-sodium, organic and more). Lunch will be provided during the working lunch session.

Topics are subject to change, and speakers will be announced at a later date. Check www.tortilla-info.com for updates.

Following a full day of educational sessions, attendees will be able to relax, visit with colleagues and check out tabletop exhibits at the Tabletops & Cocktails Networking Reception.
