Orbis Corp. plant in Silao, Mexico

Orbis Corp., Oconomowoc, WI, recently opened a new manufacturing facility in Silao, Mexico, located approximately 250 miles northwest of Mexico City.

The 265,000-square-foot plant employs approximately 140 people and enables Orbis to be more responsive to its growing customer base in Latin America. it is the first Orbis facility to offer injection and structural foam molding, as well as dunnage fabrication, under one roof. The company will manufacture plastic containers, pallets, BulkPak containers and ORBIShield dunnage products at the location.

Orbis partnered with Instituto Estatal de Capacitación (IECA), a technical training school in Silao, to create a hands-on training program that provided new plant employees with general manufacturing and technical knowledge.
