Equipment Snapshot: The updated XPdius i-130 vertical form-fill-seal machine incorporates many tool-less features that save operators time when loading film, replacing pull belts and doing bag width changeovers, according to WeighPack Systems. Capable of running 130 bags per minute while producing a 4.25-inches-long bag, the XPdius i-130 is equipped with two servo motors and drives. A cantilevered air film shaft and splicing table with film clamping are standard. Automated film tracking enables the machine to maintain a lateral position of improperly wound film. The HMI color touch screen can be programmed to operate every function and feature, and every package or product is stored in the memory for easy recall and setup. Other options available include gas flushing, polyethylene seal assembly, hole punch, vibratory shake down settling device, bag squeezers to reduce air in head space, and provisions for code dating/printing devices.
