pladis, the global snacking company, is expanding to a new office in White Plains on September 29, 2017.

With a new open and collaborative office space just north of New York City, pladis US will be moving into offices at the center of a growing hub of consumer goods businesses located in the area. While the new US headquarters provides the current team of 50 employees with a more productive and convenient working space, the company is also hiring new employees from the local area as part of the move.

Welcoming the company to White Plains, Mayor Tom Roach commented: “pladis joins a number of other major new employers which have chosen White Plains because of our proximity to transit, vibrant downtown, low crime rate and high quality of life. The company’s presence adds vibrancy to the city and will benefit our downtown merchants. I look forward to working together and welcome them to the White Plains community.”

Currently ranked the world’s number two in sweet biscuits and number eight in chocolate, pladis is on track to becoming the fastest growing company in the global snacking industry. In North America, the company will continue to expand its regional chocolate brands, Turtles and Flipz (manufactured by DeMet’s Candy Company) as well as continue to expand its premium chocolate brand Godiva and introduce its popular British heritage brand, McVitie’s in 2018.

Commenting on the office move, Brian Blanchard, Managing Director of pladis North America, said: “We’re at an important growth stage in our business - the US will account for around a fifth of pladis’s market growth in the next two years. We aim to become the key challenger in premium chocolate in the US and I’m delighted that we can offer our employees a fantastic new working space from which to set out to achieve our ambition.”

The company’s new North America HQ, 10 Bank Street, White Plans will bring the growing team together in a collaborative working space featuring natural light and great views as well as easy access to mass transit and major highways, all of which reflects the high quality of working environment its employees expect.
