Fisher Nuts launches 'My Fresh Twist' recipe contest

Chicago-based Fisher Nuts, a John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc. brand, is launching the first-ever “My Fresh Twist” recipe contest. Through Oct. 22, consumers are invited to submit an original recipe using nuts at www.myfreshtwist.com for a chance to win a grand prize trip for two to New York City and meet Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli.

"There's nothing more gratifying than recreating a tried-and-true family recipe or coming up with your own fresh twist on a traditional dish," says Guarnaschelli. "The Fisher Nuts 'My Fresh Twist' Recipe Contest gives everyone from at-home cooks to budding chefs the chance to create their own inspired signature dish–one they can enjoy and proudly share with the rest of us!"

Each submission will be featured on www.myfreshtwist.com, where Fisher fans and their friends and families will be able to vote to select the top 10 finalists. Voting will take place Oct. 22 through Nov. 5. Guarnaschelli and a panel of judges will choose the grand prize winner from the top 10 finalists. The recipes will be judged on their originality, integration of nuts, taste and visual appeal.

One grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to New York City on Dec. 13-15, meet-and-greet with Guarnaschelli, and receive a signed copy of her new cookbook, “Old School Comfort Food: The Way I Learned to Cook.” The winning recipe will also be professionally photographed and featured on the Fisher Nuts website and Pinterest page. The grand prize winner will be announced on Nov. 22.

Nine runners-up will receive a $100 VISA gift card and a signed copy of “Old School Comfort Food: The Way I Learned to Cook” by Guarnaschelli. In addition to the grand prize winner and runners-up, Fisher Nuts is selecting five weekly winners through Oct. 22 to receive a copy of Guarnaschelli’ book and a special Fisher Nuts prize package.
