A Look at “The Future of Wastewater Management”

Increasing costs from an aging infrastructure and growing demand coupled with greater pollutant restrictions and other factors are causing food and beverage providers to look outside the box at their wastewater management strategies, according to information released as part of the most recent Food Plant of the Future webinar sponsored by Hixson Architecture & Engineering and bnp publications.  In “The Future of Wastewater Management,” Hixson co-presenters Stephen Schulte, P.E., REM, and Joseph Weisgerber, P.E., shared the strategies, technologies and processes for minimizing costs associated with water and wastewater while reducing a plant’s overall water footprint, including how to:

  • Remain compliant with pollution regulations that are becoming more restrictive;
  • Decrease water-related expenses by making better use of the water needed in the facility; and
  • Invest in the facility’s future by lowering the plant’s overall water footprint and reducing the strain on local water resources.
