Members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM) employed by Hostess Brands rejected the company's last/best/final proposal by 92%. Union members in every region of the country and every segment of the company's operations overwhelmingly opposed the proposal. Hostess seeks to impose bankruptcy-exit deal in court.

Shearer’s Foods family leaders to step down after sale

The founding family leadership of Brewster, Ohio-based snack food maker Shearer’s Foods, which has been purchased by Wind Point Partners, a private equity firm in Chicago, will be stepping down. Wind Point says the transaction is expected to close in October. Terms weren’t disclosed.
