When snack and bakery product development goes as planned, with all cylinders firing from executive leadership, ingredient procurement, manufacturing and marketing, the public takes notice—as do the folks who make the grain-focused snack and bakery market their professional home.
In 2015, we launched the “Best New Snack & Bakery Products” awards to honor outstanding products that have recently hit the market and are making significant waves. These are the most-popular products on www.snackandbakery.com and in homes across the U.S.
The products below, presented alphabetically, comprise the ballots for the Best New Snack & Bakery Products of 2016: one category for snack products released within the past year, and another category for bakery products, with one vote permitted in each category. Each product includes a link leading to complete details on the product or line. They represent major trends across snack and bakery today, including portion control, gluten-free, seasonality, organic, bold and global flavors, better-for-you and convenience.
Last year, gluten-free products took the top honor on both the snack and bakery side (see “Gluten-free products take ‘Best New Snack & Bakery Products of 2015’ honors”). The two products that take top honors this year will be revealed after voting concludes at the end of the year, with the two winners announced in the January issue of Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery and on www.snackandbakery.com.
