Bryana Ganong takes over executive duties at Canada’s oldest chocolate company
David Ganong’s daughter becomes fifth generation to hold president and ceo title.
For four generations, a Ganong has overseen the growth and success of Ganong Bros. Ltd. The Canadian confectionery company ensured the tradition would continue by appointing Bryana Ganong as its future president and ceo.
Bryana becomes the fifth generation of the Ganong family to hold the position for this storied Canadian company that operates its only manufacturing facility in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. The move will take effect August 12 when David Ganong, Bryana’s father, will relinguish his position as president and ceo after serving a combined total of 33 years in those roles. He will assume the newly created position of Executive Vice Chair and will continue to provide active support and advice to the ceo and the management team.
“Bryana’s experience and expertise will help meet the continued growth and success for the Ganong and Sunkist brands that have made this company a household name, says Board Chair Hubert Saint-Onge. “Bryana’s proven record of leadership, strategy development, customer service, team building, financial and relationship management will continue to guide us through an ever-changing global environment, while ensuring the strong New Brunswick and Canadian roots that built this company are never far from our minds.”
Since joining Ganong on a full time basis in 1997, Bryana has worked in a variety of roles throughout the organization including R&D, product development, contract manufacturing, marketing and public relations. Her most recent role before this change was that of vice president of business development and brand marketing.
