Circle Foods Opens 132,000-sq.-ft. Tortilla Operation
Circle Foods, the San Diego-based producer of tortillas, plans to double its production capacity after opening its new facility.
The state-of-the-art plant, located in Otay Mesa, Calif., is compliant with Food & Drug Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture food safety standards and includes such environmental conservation features as a water treatment facility and energy efficient refrigeration and electrical utilities.
The 132,000-sq.-ft. building includes 27,000 sq. ft. of office space that serves as the company’s headquarters. The company plans to hire an additional 50 employees to work at the plant by the end of this year.
Circle Foods produces fresh, refrigerated and frozen products under the La Terra Fina, Tortillaland, Rotiland and Nuevo Grille brands.
