Pcdata, Inc., East Granby, Conn., announces that Ruud Hendrix, sales and marketing director, signed an agreement with Ali Habaj, chief executive officer of Atyab Investments, Bakery and Oman Flour Mills, to install Pcdata’s warehouse management system (WMS) for Atyab Bakery in Muscat, Oman.

“We feel that getting the right product at the right time at the right place is essential for the success of a bakery,” Habaj states. “That’s why we wanted to have the most modern system available. We have reviewed the technology, the references and the cost of hardware and software, and Pcdata turned out to be the best vis-à-vis the competition, so we decided to sign up with Pcdata.”

Atyab Investments was established to unite the common objectives of its subsidiaries and provide strength and stability to manage and synergize operations goals and policies. One of the projects is Atyab Bakery.

The bakery is considered a ground-breaking project in the Arabian Gulf region. It will invest approximately $31 million for a fully automated production facility. Commercial production is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2011.

Capable of producing 5,000 croissants, Danish and puff pastries, 5,000 loaves of bread, 24,000 buns and 12,000 pieces of Arabic bread per hour, the bakery will utilize the latest innovations to produce both fresh and frozen products and confectionery items. A Pcdata distribution WMS, including production controlling units, will be part of the innovative project.
