Tennessee Bun Co., Nashville, Tenn., announces the addition of Joe Waters as president, Brendan Terrazas and James Moe join Wixon and family member Sam Tamayo becomes the CEO of La Tortilla Factory.
Sam Tamayo moves up to chief executive officer (CEO) of La Tortilla Factory, Santa Rosa, Calif., making him the third generation of the family to run the company. Tamayo, 36, will succeed current CEO Stan Mead, carrying out a long-planned succession in the family business.
“I’m honored to be granted this opportunity to carry on this family business,” says Tamayo. “It’s something I’ve been preparing myself for for years. I had the opportunity to learn from a lot of talented people, not only in our family, but the people we have in our business.”
Meanwhile, Tennessee Bun Co., Nashville, Tenn., announces the addition of Joe Waters as president. He has more 30 years’ experience in plant, engineering and general management and has led several successful mergers. Waters also served as vice president of manufacturing for the Fresh Bakery Division of Sara Lee Corp., and oversaw 40 plant operations. Prior to his career at Sara Lee, Waters managed multiple plants for Anheuser-Busch, Thomas Industries and Continental Can Co.
At Wixon, James Moe and Brendan “Denny” Terrazas were named blending supervisors at the St. Francis, Wis.,-based manufacturer of seasonings, flavors, ingredients and consumer products for the food and beverage industry.
As a first shift blending supervisor, Moe ensures compliance with food safety and quality requirements. He is responsible for daily safety audits and shift meetings to verify safety precautions and quality control procedures. Prior to joining Wixon, Moe was a supervisor at Kerry Ingredients in Sturtevant, Wis.
As a second shift blending supervisor, Terrazas oversees safety and quality control, and ensures that employees use personal protection equipment, comply with federal regulations, and follow proper manufacturing practices. Before coming to Wixon, Terrazas was a production supervisor at Amalga Composites in West Allis, Wis.
