The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA), McLean, Va., has surpassed the milestone of 200,000 sq. ft. for the 2011 Process Expo tradeshow, which is set to take place Nov. 1-4 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

“This milestone really speaks to the commitment of suppliers to the food and beverage industry,” says Scott Scriven, chairman of the FPSA and president of Weber, Inc. “With 10 weeks left to go before this year's Process Expo, we still have companies eager to sign up and be a part of this event. At the same time, we're seeing an unprecedented amount of promotion both from show management and exhibitors and a strong response in our registration, especially for our educational sessions. We are confident that these factors coming together are helping to build the largest food and beverage focused event in the Western hemisphere this year."

David Seckman, president and CEO of FPSA, attributes the growth to the caliber of exhibits on display and the leadership among FPSA members. "Not only have [the leaders] been instrumental in the decision to move to a biennial show cycle, they act as our best ambassadors, as they are actively promoting the show to their customer base, as well as other suppliers to the industry. When you consider how few tradeshows are growing these days, it makes you truly realize the degree of support that Process Expo enjoys."
