Utz Quality Foods, Inc. is getting a little help from the sun. That’s because its West Deptford, N.J., distribution center is equipped with a 98.56kWp (DC) solar photovoltaic system that produces enough electricity to offset 100% of the facility’s annual utility usage. Systems such as lighting, air conditioning, vending, dock levelers, power-activated doors, air compressors, phones, paging, telecom and more are all offset by power from this solar module.
The Hanover, Pa.-based snack manufacturer commissioned SunWire Energy, Baltimore, Md., and Nations Roof LLC, Lithia Springs, Ga., to design and install the rooftop solar array.
