The American Bakers Association bids farewell to three members of the board of directors and welcomes four new members.

Longtime ABA board member and former ABA chairman Kenneth “Chip” Klosterman, president of Klosterman Baking Co., Cincinnati, cycled off the board following the April meeting in Aventura, Fla. Kosterman has been one of the most active voices on the board since he joined in March 1996, according to ABA.

Another former ABA chairman, Ron Turano of Turano Baking Co., Berwyn, Ill., also left the board following the April meeting. Ron will be replaced by his nephew, Joe Turano, president of Turano Baking, as he returns to his post in the Italian Senate.

Effective as of March, Rick McGrath joins the ABA board of directors in his new post as Allied Trades of the Baking Industry (ATBI) president. McGrath, a senior vice president at Lockton Companies, LLC, Chicago, replaces former ATBI president Tim Miller, senior vice president of sales, Cereal Food Processors Inc., Mission Woods, Kan.

ABA also welcomes Marc Albers, president and COO of United States Bakery, Portland, Ore., and Kevin McDonough, president of Interbake Foods, Richmond, Va., to the board. Both will begin their tenure as board members at the June board meeting.

The ABA board of directors is comprised of top leaders from across the baking industry. Board members volunteer their time to develop consensus policies that improve the government environment and overall health of the baking industry. Current ABA board chairman Robin Alton, president and CEO of Pan-o-Gold Baking, Glendale Heights, Ill., will serve through March 2014.
