It’s where 17 entries in the B.E.S.T (Becoming Environmentally Sustainable Together) in Baking program will be celebrated for their stellar sustainability efforts. B.E.S.T. in Baking Logo

Introduced in 2010, the B.E.S.T in Baking program recognizes exhibitors that supply equipment, packaging, ingredients, products and/or services that foster energy and water conservation, decrease landfill waste and promote overall healthy living. For 2013, B.E.S.T in Baking, sponsored by Bundy Baking Solutions and Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery, received nearly double the number of entries as 2010, indicating significant growth in sustainable products across the industry.

“We can make an enormously positive impact on the environment by employing more sustainable methods across the industry,” states Mike Beaty, IBIE chairman and Flowers Foods executive vice president of supply chain. “Those leading the way in this effort are an inspiration and should be recognized for their progress. That’s what B.E.S.T in Baking is all about.”
