Original Gourmet Food Co., the category leader in gourmet lollipops, recently received a U.S. Patent for its gravity-deposited lollipop manufacturing process.

The process creates lollipops that have colors and flavors throughout the entire lollipop, as opposed to just the outside of the candy.

The patent also protects Original Gourmet’s double-depositing method, which creates lollipops with a soft, chewy center in a deposited lollipop.

A family-owned business, Original Gourmet prides itself for having an outstanding product that continues to be made in America, the company says. And, the progress of the company helps to grow American jobs at both the New Hampshire headquarters and its Ohio manufacturing facilities.

The company also is launching new, smaller, 10.5-g. gravity-deposited gourmet lollipops, available for the first time this September in select Target “See, Spot, Save” sections.

Smaller than the traditional Original Gourmet lollipops, which are 31 grams, they’re ideal for sharing and more comfortable for some consumers.

The sphere pops feature the candy in clear film wrappers, just like they’re used to seeing at the checkout of their favorite retailer, and displayed in windowed bags to recognize their favorite lollipops.

The lollipop maker continues to work with a team of panelists and food scientists as well as its R&D group and employees to create new flavors and looks.
