On Sept. 27, 1971, Gerald B. Shreiber bought the assets of J&J Soft Pretzel Co. at a bankruptcy auction. At the time, the company had just eight employees and sales of less than $400,000 annually.
Forty years later, J&J Snack Foods Corp. has more than 3,000 employees and record sales of nearly $750 million. And, for 160 straight quarters, J&J Snack Foods has continued to grow, while remaining a debt-free company.
