NECCO launches new website, offers customized candy

Site allows customers to add personal messages to Conversation Hearts

It’s easy to say yes to a marriage proposal from a Sweetheart with your name on it. Literally!

NECCO (New England Confectionery Co.) has launched its new online store, MyNecco.com, which offers customers the ability to customize two of the company’s iconic candies — Wafers and Sweethearts Conversation Hearts.


“We are very excited to be able to offer personalized custom candy created for the individual customer,” says Alan Gulachenski, NECCO’s coo.


In years past, NECCO was only able to create personalized candies starting at a minimum of 3,500 pounds. However, thanks to new machines that create smaller batches, the company has now opened this market up to customers.


“It’s nice to reach out to customers and offer customized candies to them on a much smaller size,” says Brian Chalifour, marketing coordinator at NECCO.


The online store also makes a majority of the company’s products available worldwide. Chalifour explains that the website is helping bring the nostalgic candy company back into the mainstream.

 

“People are stocking up and buying cases because they can find the products they haven’t seen in years,” he says.
