Bartek Ingredients will showcase two solutions that simplify product formulation at this year's SupplySide West.

Those ingredients are EasyAcid Malic Solution, a liquid malic acid ingredient, and Pecmate Pectin Enhancer, an ingredient system that simplifies the formulation process when using pectin.

Bartek introduced Pecmate Pectin Enhancer in 2021 to help brands optimize pectin-based gummy formulation. It presents an opportunity for formulators to better control gelling behavior and maintain stable pH throughout the formulation process, helping prevent product loss and production downtime. The company recently introduced Pecmate K, a functionally equivalent, potassium-based version of Pecmate that allows for removal of sodium from the ingredient legend in applications where it is needed.

“Gummy supplements often contain costly functional ingredients, like minerals, probiotics or CBD, which impact the pH of the batch and can hinder pectin setting and processing — this alternatively leads into production scraps,” said Mohammad Emami, Bartek’s director of marketing and business development. “We know that wasted batches are hard on the environment and the budget, and Pecmate is a great option for brands to avoid that.”

Show attendees can visit Bartek at Booth 2427 to discuss how the company’s proprietary ingredients and its solutions-based approach can assist in product innovations or reformulation.
