Vezzetti named 2016-2017 John Kitt Memorial Scholarship winner
AACT awards $5,000 to Delaware Valley University senior.
Hannah Vezzetti has a sweet future ahead of her.
The American Association of Candy Technologists (AACT) recently announced Vezzetti, a senior at Delaware Valley University, as the recipient of the 2016-2017 John Kitt Memorial Scholarship. The association gives the $5,000 award to aspiring candy technologists.
Vezzetti, a dean’s list student from Perkasie, Penn., will receive the award in two $2,500 installments to continue her studies in food science. Vezzetti also serves as secretary of the Food Industry Club at Delaware Valley and interned this summer with PepsiCo. She interned with The Hershey Company in 2015. In addition, Vezzetti has developed confectionery products to be sold at her family’s farm.
Recipients of the Kitt Memorial Scholarship must show an interest in confectionery technology through research projects, work experience, or formal study. They also must have at least a 3.0 grade point average, major in food science, chemical science or biological science, and attend an accredited four-year college or university in North America. Recipients must have sophomore, junior, or senior status.
