Doug Tuttle was a true candy maker at heart, having worked most recently at Enstrom Candies, but also at Russell Stover Candies, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Maxfield’s Candies, and Gimbal’s Fine Candies.

“He played such an important role in our lives over the past couple of years, we couldn’t have asked for a more committed and passionate associate,” says  Doug Simons, president of Enstrom Candies. “Tuttle’s love for the confectionery industry was truly contagious.”

Tuttle died Dec. 7 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo. from complications of pneumonia. He was 58.

When he joined Enstrom Candies as director of manufacturing in May 2010, Tuttle brought “22 years of experience, a wealth of industry knowledge, and a bright smile to the candy maker’s kitchen,” the company says.

“Doug Tuttle’s contribution to Enstrom Candies was immeasurable as the company diversified into large-scale wholesale manufacturing” says Simons. “Doug will be missed greatly by the industry and by all of us here at Enstrom.

Tuttle is survived by his wife, Ginger Tuttle of Grand Junction,  Colo.; son, Shane Tuttle, U.S. NAVY, stationed in Afghanistan; daughter, Seyward Robbins of Virginia Beach, Va.; son, Tanner Tuttle of Nashville; daughter, Haley Tuttle of Tucson; brother, Marty (Terri) of Denver; and brothers Bill (Janet) and Scott of Grand Junction, Colo.
