In an effort to gain a stronger command of the beverage, dairy and bakery markets, Chicago area-based Synergy Flavors has acquired Chicago area-based Sethness Greenleaf.

"Sethness Greenleaf has an excellent reputation in the marketplace, which has been built over 120 years, and we are excited to have them as a part of Synergy,” says Roderick W. Sowders, president and ceo of Synergy Flavors. “Additionally, we feel that Synergy's broader product offerings will bring additional value to Sethness Greenleaf's strong customer base."

Patrick Kearney, former owner and president of Sethness Greenleafe, says, he’s confident he’s found the best fit for the company and its employees.

“When I decided it was time for me to pursue other interests, I wanted to find a buyer for this business that would continue to support the company's growth in the future, and allow it to remain in the Chicago area,” he explains.

The announcement comes on the heels of the Synergy's acquisition of Sensus, which was completed Sept. 21.
