Robert Weidner, who joins Blommer's commodity team as the new senior strategic sourcing manager.

Robert Weidner has joined the Blommer commodity team as senior strategic sourcing manager.

As the former commodities and risk manager for Cargill’s Cocoa business in North America., he comes to Blommer with a strong commodities and strategic sourcing background, including extensive commodity experience with corn, cocoa, sugar, milk and oils.

The diverse background will allow him to have an impact in Blommer’s sourcing strategies across numerous raw materials.

In the senior strategic sourcing role, Weidner will develop the sourcing strategy for cocoa and other identified commodity products.

He’ll also be developing an in-depth knowledge of the industry, including information on the supplier base, the competitive landscape and industry trends to define Blommer’s procurement strategies and ensure cost efficient procurement of key ingredients.  

Additionally, Weidner will work in conjunction with Blommer’s sustainable initiatives and with various business partners to build supplier relationships in the global marketplace that add value and ensure overall competitive advantage in cost, value, quality, service, innovation.
