What’s your state’s favorite junk food?

U.S. consumers love sweets and snacks, from cookies and chips to pies and cakes.
Bid-On-Equipment decided to take it a step further, analyzing Google search results to determine the most popular “junk food” in each state.
The used processing and packaging equipment seller found baked goods to be among the most popular, with doughnuts and pies each earning the top spot in 13 states. Ice cream took the top spot in nine states.
Bid-On-Equipment also surveyed 1,016 U.S. about their junk food habits. Just over a third (35 percent) said they eat junk food every day. Most (87 percent) get junk food cravings multiple times a day.
As for reasons why people eat junk food, taste was the top reason (49 percent), followed by comfort (16 percent), convenience (12 percent), stress relief (10 percent) and boredom (4 percent). Additionally, nearly 60 percent of consumers say junk food is an impulse by.
