Sweet changes are on the horizon for Vermont Nut Free Chocolates.

Vermont Nut Free Chocolates will relocate its production and retail facilities after nearly 20 years at its Grand Isle County location.

The company recently announced its intent to move to Colchester, Vt., just ahead of the 2018 Summer Fancy Food Show. The Colchester facility will be double the size of the current plant and will allow for an expansion in wholesale production. Construction on the facility is expected to be complete in early fall.

In addition to the move, Vermont Nut Free Chocolates has announced two new hires. Brian Susslin joins as director of sales, having previously held leadership positions at New England Confectionery Co., Storck USA and Lindt and Sprungli Inc., among others. Notably, he worked for 16 years at Barry Callebaut Chocolate when it developed its first U.S production facility.

The second hire is Carly Ngo, a recent Clark University graduate, who will become the new sales and marketing coordinator. She will work closely with Susslin, using her digital marketing expertise to conduct more targeted marketing initiatives and manage the company’s social media platforms.

“This year marks our 20th anniversary and we are excited to welcome Brian and Carly to the team as our company flourishes,” said Mark Elvidge, Vermont Nut Free Chocolates president and co-founder. “Our goal at Vermont Nut Free Chocolates has always been to spread awareness about the dangers of peanut and tree nut allergies by providing a trusted product that can be enjoyed by those with and without allergies. Through the expansion of our team and move into our new facility, we’re able to achieve these goals.”
