Jan O'Brien has joined aspecialtybox.com as a strategic account manager.

In her role, O'Brien is responsible for developing new business for the design, print and manufacturing capabilities of the Calvert Companies. Her responsibilities include Professional Image, Professional Image 3D, and aspecialtybox.com — which manufactures and distributes unique packaging to the confectionery, gourmet food and gift industries.

O'Brien's prior experience includes working at Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate, where she led a team that sold chocolate, cocoa, and confectionery ingredients to specialty confectionery and bakery segments. Her most notable achievement at Cargill includes building loyalty for the company with the Wilbur, Peter's, Veliche, and Gerken's brands.

She also served eight years on the Candy Industry Kettle Committee and served as chairperson in 2003. She has been an associate member of Retail Confectioners International since 1989, and served three years on RCI's board of directors.

O'Brien has also served as a vestry member at St. Thomas Episcopal church and been an active volunteer with American Cancer Society – Relay for Life.

She holds a bachelor's degree from Carroll University, Waukesha, Wis.
