A Datamonitor article referred to a UK newspaper report that stated Nestlé and The Hershey Co. are discussing a possible merger or stake sale. The Telegraph article indicated that  Nestlé would buy 25% of Hershey in the near future and purchase the rest within the next two years. Citing unidentified sources, the Telegraph’s Web site said that Hershey is working with JPMorgan Chase & Co. on a deal in which Nestlé is a potential buyer. A representative from Nestlé declined to comment on the possible merger and a representative for The Hershey Co. could not be reached.
