It sounds like a product Willy Wonka would make, except without the blue side effects.

Extra Gum is expanding its lines of Dessert Delights with three new flavors - Bananas Foster, Root Beer Float and Lemon Square. But not all of them will see the florescent lights of store shelves. Consumers will decide which one endures in the all-new Fan Flavorite Vote.

The Lemon Square flavor may have an advantage, because it is inspired by the winning dessert of the Quickfire Challenge in the Bravo series "Top Chef Just Desserts.," but as of Wednesday, Root Beer Float was in the lead, with more than 101,000 votes.

Through Nov. 12, fans can vote for their favorite Extra Dessert Delights flavor as often as they as they change their gum, online at www.facebook.com/extragum or on their cell phones at m.extragumvote.com.

The results of the Fan Flavorite Vote will be announced on Nov. 16. The winning flavor will then launch in the 2012 summer, and will be added to the Dessert Delights lineup, which includes: Orange Creme Pop, Apple Pie, Mint Chocolate Chip, Strawberry Shortcake and Key Lime Pie.

Extra Dessert Delights gum sells for a suggest retail prices $1.19 for a single, 15-stick Slim Pack and $2.49 for multi-pack.
