Zollipops to give 100,000 treats to support dental health

“100,000 Smiles” campaign helps promote Dental Health Month.

LOL, the maker of good-for-your-teeth Zollipops, has launched a “100,000 Smiles” campaign to support National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Every February, the American Dental Association promotes its month-long initiative to promote good oral health. This year’s campaign features the slogan, “Defeat Monster Mouth.”

In response, Alina Morse, the nine-year-old inventor of Zollipops, decided to give away 100,000 treats for free to dentists and schools to help encourage healthy mouths and beautiful smiles. She also pledged to donate 10 percent of Zollipops’ profits to support oral health education in schools.

"We are putting our money, and Zollipops, where your mouth is, to support NCDHM's 2015 campaign to 'Defeat Monster Mouth,'" says Morse, the inventor of the “Clean Teeth Pop.” "We have the same goal: to promote healthy teeth and gums!"

Tooth decay is America’s most prevalent childhood disease, five times more common than asthma and seven times more common than hay fever. Zollipops, which come in a variety of flavors, helps fight cavities by neutralizing acid, raising the pH level inside the mouth and reducing bacteria.

These sugar-free lollies replace enamel-eating ingredients with erythritol and stevia and leave a clean, refreshing feeling in the mouth.

"I invented Zollipops because I couldn't see why keeping your teeth healthy and clean couldn't be fun," says Morse. "I don't know a kid who doesn't like candy, and sweets can be really damaging to your mouth. Why not have a candy that is good for you?"
