Danisco sells sugar division to Nordzucker
Danisco Sugar has announced plans to sell its sugar division to German sugar producer Nordzucker for around $1.2 billion. The deal will separate Danisco’s sugar business from its ingredients business and allow the company to evolve into a “focused, bio-based, market-driven ingredients provider,” a company spokesperson explained. The sale is expected to close within the next five months, depending on merger clearance and Danisco shareholders.
